Civilization Cluster
· Founded with the goal of "creating a new world of culture," Kyung Hee University has been dedicated to social and peace movements under the founding spirit of implementing universal human values. This effort led to the establishment of a global social movement, including the "Global Initiative 100 for Neo-Renaissance" and the "1999 Seoul NGO World Conference," with UN NGO DPI and CONGO. In 2004, the university initiated the construction of the "UN Peace Park" and "Global NGO Complex."
· In 2006, Global Academy for Future Civilizations has initiated UN DESA DPADM partnered with UN and signed MOU and commenced diverse programs starting with UN Internship with Kyung Hee University.
· In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of its founding, Kyung Hee established the "World Civic Forum (WCF)" in 2009, followed by the launch of the "Miwon (美源) Lecture" in 2010, the establishment of the "Humanitas College" in 2011, and the establishment of the "Global Service Corps (GSC)" in 2011, all in line with Kyung Hee's tradition of "scholarship and peace," pursuing the dream and vision of building a peaceful human society.
· Kyung Hee University's Future Civilization Research Institute was established in September 2005 to inherit the tradition of Kyung Hee Academy's scholarship peace. Its founding goal is to achieve an Global Community that is centered on humans and future-oriented. It aims to carry out systematic research, education, and practical projects that go beyond the modern aporia left by modern society and civilization, in pursuit of the universal human values of freedom, equality, peace, and public welfare. Kyung Hee University values the social responsibility of higher education and is committed to academic projects that promote the progressive development of human civilization, leading the way towards a future civilization.
